So this is it. After a full month of overthinking, I have finally decided to sit down and actually write the first post for my blog… And I have to admit I’m terrified!
So why am I doing this? You may ask… Well, since I learned that I was pregnant back in September 2015 I’ve been reading a lot in the Internet: about pregnancy, labor, babies, parenthood, etc. and the bloggers community has been extremely helpful for me, specially considering that I had (and still have) more questions than answers to anything baby related and because I’m not much of a sleeper, so having all that material available was exactly what I needed during my many sleepless nights!
On top of that, this past year has been an interesting journey, specially considering that I’ve been living in North America only for 4 years and everything was new to me, not only from a pregnancy and mother perspective but also from the cultural one. How pregnancy and labor are managed in Canada is completely different from where I come from so I had to learn everything from scratch.
Having said that, I have decided that it’s time for me to contribute back to the community and share what I’ve learned by myself and (surprisingly enough) has not been yet said (or at least not that I’m aware of).
Considering that Canada is a “new-comers” country, I’m sure that this blog and my experience will help out all these foreign mommas and mommas-to-be that, like me, are learning as they go. There are tons of things that I wish someone would have told me ahead of time so if I’m able to give you some insight, new ideas, tips, tricks or at least make you laugh while reading this blog then I got what I was looking for!
So let’s get our hands dirty! Thanks for reading, welcome and ENJOY!
